drum and a question involving recording xlr snakes?
ok, so I called the MIDI interface M-Audio Fastrack "and without many resources. I have a set of drum microphones, and I wondered if a snake is male XLR 8, when taken in any quarter, or a female XLR input. Have to change a speaker cable end from xlr to speakon adapter as our new amplifer only has speakon output. at the XLR end the two cores are / brown to 3 and blue to 1, i know at the other end the cores go into 1- and 1 + just not sure which way or if it matters

our set up is a ross mixer that runs through to two power amps wihich then run two 1200w speaker cabinets.
our new power amplifiers behringer ep4000 have speakon output only. Our speakers powered by these amplifiers only have the 3 pin inputs which is xlr – correct me if im wrong – so thefore i need a cable that has xlr connection on one end for the speaker input and speakon on the other for the amplifier output

They don’t make cables with that type of configuration. You will have to purchase two adapters.
1. 1/4″ male plug to speakon plug.
2. 1/4″ female plug to XLR female plug.
Check and call your local music store. I’m pretty sure they will have these adapters.
